POSITION DESCRIPTIONS FOR SMSA

Here is a brief description of the volunteer positions in SMSA please contact another volunteer for more information.

Age Group Coordinators
A coordinator is needed for each age group to help with team selection and coach assignments. They also coordinate practice schedules for their assigned age group. Age Group Coordinators disperse league information to the teams/coaches in their age group and serve as a key link between the coaches and the SMSA board.

President
SMSA needs a president to provide leadership for the association and guide the decision-making processes to determine what is best of all players. The president presides over the monthly SMSA meetings and serves as a liaison with other organizations in South Middleton Township.
Soccer knowledge is helpful, but not required!

Vice President / Player-Coach Development
Share your soccer expertise with SMSA! This individual supervises the player evaluation/tryout process, assists in the team selection process and coordinates the training of players and coaches.

CPYSL Representative
Attends Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League meetings and represents SMSA concerns at the meetings.

Registrar
The registrar maintains the SMSA database, keeps player and coach files up to date, secures association insurance and submits necessary paperwork to CPYSL and EPYSA.

Treasurer
If you can balance a checkbook, you’re qualified for this job! The treasurer maintains SMSA financial records, deposits monies received into SMSA bank accounts and issues payment for authorized SMSA expenses.

Secretary
Records and distributes meeting minutes, maintains official records, handles association correspondence and provides announcements to local media.

Equipment Coordinator
Maintains and purchases goals, nets, flags, balls and other equipment.

Fields Coordinator
Manages field locations within the township, monitors for damage and coordinates field lining with parent volunteers.
 

Uniform Coordinator
Works with suppliers to select and order printed team uniforms.

Sponsor Coordinator
Secures sponsorships from local businesses and gathers the sponsor information to be used for uniforms, newsletters and Web site.
Photo Day Coordinator
Works with photographer to organize photo sessions.

Special Events/Merchandising

Manages apparel orders by working with suppliers and processing orders, and coordinates special events as needed.

Web Site Coordinator
Maintains the SMSA Web site and updates online information using information supplied by the SMSA board.

REFEREES NEEDED!
Training is available for interested teens or adults. It’s a great way to earn money and stay active in soccer. Must be at least age 14. Contact SMSA if you are interested in becoming certified.
