U6 and U8 Winter Training

U6 and U8 Winter Training

SMSA is excited to offer winter training to area U6 and U8 players to help prepare them for the spring season. 
Training will focus on ball skills- dribbling with various parts of the feet, striking the ball, running with the ball, and learning more about ball control at their age and skill levels. 

SMSA will be hosting a professional soccer trainer at each session.  Together, the trainers, have developed a curriculum and will lead each session. We will have coaches on hand to facilitate the lessons. 

There will be limited participant space so please register soon.

Who: U6 and U8 Soccer Players

When: Sundays 2/16 to 3/22.

Time: 1 to 2pm

Where: Yellow Breeches Middle School Gym

Goalkeeper Training

Goalkeeper Training

SMSA is very excited to offer indoor goalkeeper training for U9* and above players.
This training will be specific to goalkeepers to improve and further develop their skills.

Goalkeeper Trainer Amanda Kenyon will be focusing on the fundamentals of footwork, catching, diving, and the distribution and positioning within the goal and field. 

Who: U9 and Above Soccer Players* 

(Open to all players in the area)

When: Sundays 2/16 to 3/22

Time: TBD*

Where: Yellow Breeches Middle School Gym or High School Auxiliary Gym*

*Anyone with a birth year of 2012 who played U9 Travel in the Fall please contact our registrar at [email protected] to register for the goalkeeper training if interested.

*Keeper training will be held from 1-2pm or 2-3pm.  You will be notified of your training time and location upon the closing of registration

Soccer Biography for Goalkeeper Trainer Amanda Kenyon

        Amanda Kenyon (Maiden name Amanda Chuda) was a four-year Varsity starter goalkeeper, with two seasons at Niskayuna High School in upstate New York and two seasons at the Williston Northampton School of Massachusetts.  For Niskayuna, she was voted a member of the school's Soccer Hall of Fame after helping guide the program to two Division titles, a Suburban Council Class A Championship and a Section II Regional title in 2000.  While at Williston, Amanda help lead the program to a New England Prep School League Champion in 2003 and a co-championship in 2002. She was selected a Massachusetts All-Star in 2003.  In addition, she played for the Capital United Blue Thunder Club Team which she led to a NY State Cup Championship in 2002 and Directors Cup title in 2003.  From 2000-2004 Amanda was selected to play for the Olympic Development team for Eastern NY State North as well as the highly competitive Region I Olympic Development program which covered MA, NH, VT, MA, NY, DE, PA, RI, NJ, MD, WV and VA. The comulination of her career was being accepted into Villanova University's Division 1 soccer program in 2004.
