South Middleton Soccer recognizes the commitment, perseverance and hard work that our student athletes go through on their journey to high school graduation. Annually, SMSA awards up to two graduating seniors from Boiling Springs High School with a $500 scholarship towards higher education. Past and present SMSA participants are eligible to apply for the SMSA Senior Scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria:
*Current high school senior
*Participation in the SMSA soccer program for a minimum of three years
*Participation in Boiling Springs High School (BSHS) junior varsity or varsity soccer for a minimum of two years with mandatory
participation during the senior year
*Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate course of study in an accredited two or four year technical school, college or university
Selection Criteria:
*Number of years playing for SMSA and BSHS
*Extra-curricular activities related to SMSA: mentoring, coaching and good sportsmanship
*Academic achievement: minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
*Volunteerism through school, family, or community involvement
*250-500 word essay: How has soccer impacted your life?
*Written recommendation from a soccer coach and a teacher
Scholarship Awards
*Award amount: $500
*Two scholarships awarded per year*
*Selection by SMSA board members
*Monies may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies or room and board if living on campus
*Scholarship is payable to the institution and will be mailed directly to the school
