Program Overview
Our SMSA YDP U6 Program is designed for young players ages 4–5 who are taking their first steps into organized soccer. Participants will begin learning the basics of offensive and defensive positioning and gain an introduction to game fundamentals through a 5v5 format.
The program focuses on:
Skill Development: Emphasis on ball control, dribbling, passing, and moving the ball effectively on the field.
Game Understanding: Learning basic positioning and simple game rules in a small-sided environment.
Team Play & Sportsmanship: Coaches facilitate friendly competition within the program to encourage teamwork, fair play, and positive interactions.
Fun & Participation: Creating a joyful, supportive environment where every child can enjoy soccer and build confidence.
Coaching & Game Structure
Coaches guide all practices and games, helping players understand the rules while encouraging teamwork and fair play. Each session combines skill-building activities with friendly matches against other teams in the program, providing children with immediate opportunities to practice what they learn.
